Key Dates & Crew Assignments — every milestone, every owner

Every dated action in the season. Each entry shows the date, the action, and the crew or resource required. Read top-to-bottom for chronological execution order.
TODAY · 5/28
Place TC nursery cut order. Confirm cut date + clone count. Also today: order 4″ pots, source prop greenhouse materials, source 1000–1500 LF deer fencing materials, kick off baseline water test to lab. Contact Soilscape Solutions to scope irrigation design engagement. Owner / Ops Lead
5/28 – 6/1
Prep INDOOR prop space: clean, hang lights, plastic, humidifier. Operational before clones arrive Jun 15. 2-person crew · ~5 days
MON 6/1
Clones cut at TC nursery. ~14-day root cycle through Jun 14, arrival Jun 15. TC nursery
6/1 – 6/18
Build PROP GREENHOUSE (rudimentary hardening structure). Ready by ~Jun 18 for the harden window. Build crew · poly + hoops + shade cloth
6/1 – 6/22
Rework field irrigation per Soilscape design — mains, Dosatron bench, filtration, PRV. Must be live + tested by Jun 22 (2-day buffer before transplant starts Jun 24). Irrigation lead (Alec?) + 2 helpers
~6/8
Baseline water test. Send well sample to lab — informs Soilscape design, filtration spec, Dosatron stock recipes. Lab kitCooler ship
6/8 – 6/22
Soil delivery + fill 45-gal pots in place. Must finish + settle by Jun 22 — pots wet and ready for transplant Jun 24. See Soil SOP tab. 6–8 shovel · 1 tractor · 1 hose ~2 d / 1k pots~$2.50–4/pot
MON 6/15
Clones arrive at farm. Move into indoor prop space under lights. Hold 2 days for recovery. Prop crew
~6/17
Up-pot to 4″ pots. Settle 2 more days under lights (Jun 17–18). Prop crew · ~1 day 4″ potsMycorrhizae
6/15 – 7/4
Build deer fence — 1,000–1,500 LF perimeter. Target Jul 4 live. If slipping: install hotwire temp fence before transplant (Jun 24). Fence crew or contractor
SUN 6/21
Move clones outside to PROP GREENHOUSE. Solstice day. Shade cloth + humidifier. Apply preventative spray (Trichoderma/Bacillus). Continues until field transplant. Prop crew · daily checks Shade clothHumidifierBio-spray
6/24 – 6/26
FIELD TRANSPLANT to 45-gal · 3-day operation. Starts when roots show through the bottom of the 4″ pots. Prerequisites must ALL be in place: irrigation live + tested, pots filled + settled, hotwire temp fence up, clones hardened. Mycorrhizae at rootball. Delay 5 days if nights <50°F. Sow beneficial companion mix concurrent. Full crew · 3 days
~6/27 – 7/1
Install T-posts + trellis netting immediately after transplant. Field crew + T-post driver
~6/27 – 7/5
Install soil moisture sensors + security cameras. Baseline readings + perimeter coverage from day one. SensorsCamerasNetwork
~7/20
Plant tissue test #1 (late veg). Confirms N/P/K/micros before flower commitment. Lab kit
~8/6 – 8/8
Photoperiod flip. Daylength crosses 14 hr at 41.5°N. End of veg.
~8/24
Plant tissue test #2 (mid-flower). Confirms nutrition through bud fill. Lab kit
~9/1
Daily bud-rot scouting begins. Botrytis peaks Sep–Oct. Field lead · daily walk
9/25 – 10/8
Main harvest window. Stage a rush-harvest crew option for bad weather. Full crew + temps
~10/14
Average first frost — hard wall. Late harvest only on clean, frost-free forecasts.

Soil SOP & Critical-Path Notes — procedures and dependencies

Detailed procedure for the soil delivery and pot-fill operation (week of June 8) and the four critical-path notes that flag dependencies not visible on the Gantt alone.
Soil Delivery & Pot-Fill SOP · Week of June 8
Step Crew / Equipment Detail
1 · Stage Tractor / skid-steer · 1 operator Soil delivered (or mixed) at a central pad. Tractor drops staging piles every few rows so no shovel-throw is more than ~10 ft to a pot. Pre-position empty 45-gal fabric pots in final field grid.
2 · Fill 6–8 shovel crew Hand-fill to ~3″ below rim. Pace: ~2 days for 1,000 pots, ~4 days for 2,000, linear. Best risk-adjusted method — gentle on soil structure, low capital, proven.
3 · Settle 1 person · irrigation hose Hose-water each pot to runoff the same day it's filled. Settles medium, removes air pockets, primes biology. Top off any pots that sink >2″.
Cost ~$2.50–$4 / pot labor At 1,000 pots: ~$2,500–$4,000 labor only. Soil + amendments are separate (see plan doc, est. ~$70k at 1,000 plant scale).
Critical-Path Notes
Transplant trigger is biological, not calendar. Jun 24–26 is the planned window — actual transplant starts when roots show through the bottom of the 4″ pots. If they're not rooting through by Jun 24, hold and check daily. Transplanting before roots are ready stunts the plant; transplanting late costs veg days against the Aug 6 flip.
Irrigation is the hidden critical path. Soilscape engagement this week → design by ~Jun 7–10 → parts ordered → install + test live by Jun 22 (2 days before transplant Jun 24). All infrastructure — irrigation, filled pots, perimeter, hardened plants — must be in place before the 3-day transplant operation begins. No exceptions.
Perimeter logic. Deer fence target Jul 4 protects the crop in early flower stretch. Hotwire temp fence must be operational by transplant (Jun 24) — unprotected seedlings for even 5+ nights = devastating browse loss. The Jul 4 target is for the permanent fence; the temp fence is non-negotiable.
Three parallel build streams. Prop infrastructure (▲ prop prep + greenhouse build), field infrastructure (◆ irrigation + soil + pots), and perimeter (▼ deer fence) all run concurrently May 28 – Jun 22. Each stream needs an owner and an honest daily check that it'll land on time. Stream slippage is invisible until convergence — by then it's too late to recover.
